Deutsche Hypo's Aa3 long-term debt rating from Moody's
Mortgage and Public Pfandbriefe AAA

Moody's has analysed Deutsche Hypothekenbank (Actien-Gesellschaft), Hannover/Berlin (abb. Deutsche Hypo) for the first time. The long-term debt rating was set at Aa3. Moody's based their rating in part on the close integration into the ING-Group and the letter of comfort ("Patronatserklärung") given by BHF-BANK for Deutsche Hypo. Moody's also emphasized the Bank's conservative lending approach.

Deutsche Hypo's Mortgage and Public Pfandbriefe were granted the best possible credit rating: AAA. That, according to Moody's, reflects the high quality of the loan book in cover.

Deutsche Hypo's Public Pfandbriefe have been rated AAA by Standard & Poor's since 1998.

Deutsche Hypo, headquartered in Hanover, Germany, is one of Germany's medium sized mortgage lenders engaged in real estate and public-sector lending. The bank has total assets of € 23 billion as at 31st December 2000.
