Deutsche Hypo optimises own capital structure
Termination of silent participation will be compensated by taking on subordinated liabilities
Deutsche Hypo has decided to terminate the silent participation by Charlottenburg Capital International S.a.r.l. & Cie of Deutsche Hypo with effect as of 31 December 2016. The repayment will take place at the due date of 30 June 2017.
The silent participation was issued in the year 2010 and has a nominal value of € 75 million. Since Deutsche Hypo will be taking on replacement capital of the same amount simultaneously, this measure will not have a qualitiative or quantitative impact on the capital ratios of the Bank.
“According to the current supervisory regulations our silent participation is not treated as core capital anymore“, explains Andreas Pohl, Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of Deutsche Hypo the background to the measure. “With the termination of the silent participation we are able to minimise the complexity of our capital structure and our capital costs.”
