This is an increase of 17.4 % compared with the same period of the previous year (\u20ac 1,802 million). The new business volume increased both domestically and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>With a share of 62.1 % (2016: 60.6), the regional focus of new business continued to be in Germany. At the same time, domestic commitments increased by 20.2 % to \u20ac 1,313 million (2016: 1,093). The highest share of new business outside Germany for Deutsche Hypo came from the Benelux countries with \u20ac 358 million (2016: 85) and the UK with \u20ac 253 million (2016: 472). Overall, Deutsche Hypo&#8217;s new business volume in foreign target markets totaled \u20ac 803 million (2016: 710).<\/p>\n<p>Office properties remained the most important asset class in the portfolio of Deutsche Hypo and contributed \u20ac 712 million (2016: 927) to the new business volume, followed by retail properties with a volume of \u20ac 701 million (2016: 500). The volume for residential properties increased to \u20ac 387 million (2016: 153).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can be very satisfied with the new business volume achieved in the first half of 2017.
